A new tabletop Halo game is in the works and has been confirmed to be released later this year.
A new Halo game is slated for release later in the year; however, this one will be a bit of a new branch, with the game’s main focus being that it will be a tabletop game, which was originally developed by Bungie and is now currently managed and actively developed by 343 Industries which has become popular and maintained popularity in gaming media. Now, with so many titles in the franchise, this confirmed new Halo will have fans viewing and experiencing the game in an interesting way.
The last addition to the game franchise to be released way back in November 2021, Halo Infinite, had a bit of a rough take-off during launch, which left many players and loyal fans of the franchise unsatisfied. The lack of a campaign and the overall state of the game has been a staple of the series ever since the first Halo game of the franchise.
Even with the game’s rocky start, Halo Infinite has received several updates while gaining and maintaining a high player count, even though the hope for a single-player campaign is still unanswered. However, while there is no official announcement of the next title entry in the series, fans may have something to be excited about this year.
Mantic Games is confident in what they have to show, and in a press release, Mantic Games CEO Ronnie Renton went on record – claiming that he is very happy with the game and that he anticipates it being a lot of fun for fans. Halo has had its fair share of Tabletop entries before, with games such as Halo: Actionclix, Spartans, and UNSC Forces.
Overall, Tabletop games aren’t anything new, with many titles gaining popularity and winning awards such as Baldur’ Gate 3, which is based on a tabletop roleplaying game titled Dungeons & Dragons, and with many titles of different genres teaming into the tabletop gameplay we can only hope what was once a rumor and is now confirmed to be the next entry, into the genre and the popular game will live up to fan expectations.
