Several sources lead fans to believe that another Xbox Developer Direct is coming.
Several sources have said that Microsoft intends to hold another Xbox Developer Direct later this month, with one source more specifically pointing out that it is planned to take place in mid-January. Speculations on this matter arose mere days before the one-year anniversary of the original Xbox Developer Direct announcement.
Much like the name implies, the Inaugural Xbox Developer Direct gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at titles that had been in Microsoft’s many studios and in the works around this time last year. Specifically, the show that took place on January 25, 2023, with Microsoft going with the option to pair it with a dedicated The Elder Scrolls online event. The Xbox and Bethesda Developer Direct featured some half a dozen games in total, such as Minecraft Legends, Starfield in which they also featured in a showcase, and Forza Motorsport.
Getting back to this entirely new rumored show implies that Microsoft’s event may combine new trailers for some up-and-coming games with at least one surprise launch. As a matter of fact, one percent of reports from earlier this week show precisely what the company is planning to do, which suggest fans can expect a January 2024 Xbox Developer Direct.
Taking to Reddit, Reddit user “Zantorn”, asserted that another Xbox Developer Direct is planning to happen in the week of January 14. While this claim is unclear or confirmed, the very same user correctly predicted that June 21 and September 14 when Nintendo Direct was taking place during the weeks of June 18 and September 10, respectively.
Overall, fans will be excited regardless of when the event ends up taking place but this rumor certainly sparks hope for an early-ish event, we can only wait to see what comes next all we can hope for is a new stream of Xbox games in 2024.
