PGA TOUR 2K25 delivers more content and the brand new EvoSwing System to take your golfing experience to the next level.
It’s been more than 2 years since PGA TOUR 2K23, and we loved playing it because it gave us the most authentic golfing simulation experience in a video game ever. But a new toy has arrived with PGA TOUR 2K25, and one would hope that this one can do better than the predecessor.
But the question is: has it done so? Be sure to stick around, as we’ll go over the additions to the new game and if they’re good or not. Moreover, of course, being of the latest installment is generally worth your time and money.
To add to the excitement, we’re at the beginning of the PGA Tour, as we’ve just entered the Mexico Championship, and it’s no time like the present to replicate the real-life event in the latest version with some of our favorite golfers. Not long ago, there was a First-Look demo of PGA TOUR 2K25 for you to try out. We’ve tried it, and we were impressed. We liked what we saw, as it looked promising. But now, the full game is out, and we’re even more impressed.

PGA TOUR 2K25 has 11 male and female real-life playable pro players on the roster, including, obviously, the icon himself, Tiger Woods. But you have Brooke Henderson, Tony Finau, Matt Fitzpatrick, Rose Zhang, and more. As a surprise, another playable character is the well-known actor Christopher McDonald, who played the antagonist professional golfer in the 1996 comedy Happy Gilmore. Boy, wouldn’t that be fun to play as such a character?
Whether you have experience in PGA TOUR 2K games, I strongly recommend that you make use of the tutorials because you might struggle when playing, leading to confusion and frustration. These tutorials will help you get acquainted with PGA TOUR 2K25’s brand-new suggestions. Plus, you’ll need to learn about the brand-new EvoSwing mechanics.
EvoSwing is a new system that takes golfing to the next level. It places much more emphasis on precision, leading to more accurate shots. Players must focus on their input accuracy and timing. It features brand-new roll physics, ball flights, shot types, visual improvements and animations, and more.
Your swings are now divided into four categories: transition, contact, swing path, and rhythm. And yes, you’ll be assessed based on each of them. After every swing, the new feedback meter will appear and will provide the stats of each category, giving you an insight into how well your swing was.

You’re getting a much more in-depth analysis that determines a number of different factors, such as which direction the ball fades, hooks, draws, or even goes straight. This is a very good and important addition as it makes you take more care and control over your swings, which may prompt you to do better if, for example, the feedback is negative.
Furthermore, the EvoSwing also changes how you position the right analog stick, which is a game changer. The only issue is that it was a little complicated at first, but after some practice, it became much simpler.
Another addition is the Perfect Swing, which is a brand new difficulty setting in PGA TOUR 2K25. You can enjoy it as either a veteran or a newbie in the franchise, as it involves players getting the ultimate excitement of hitting fairways and greens like an actual pro golfer. This new feature also greatly reduces the material impact of external factors on how a player swings.
It brings tears to my eyes because MyPLAYER has finally gotten the surgery it needed. To start things off, you have many more customization options. If you’re a player who’d rather use a custom pro, then you’d love to know that the customization is larger than ever. More choices to suit your needs when it comes to how your player looks. Whether it’s on the hair, facial expressions, upper and lower body, and so on.

The skill system has been rebuilt from the ground up, as it now features dedicated skill trees for shot types such as Recovery, Approach, and Tee. Moreover, just like the last game, you can assign your custom pro to any of the five archetypes: Technician, Sculptor, Greenskeeper, Magician, and Powerhouse. All archetypes have their own starting attributes that are contemplative of certain play styles.
PGA TOUR 2K25’s MyCAREER also comes with changes. There are the new Interactive Simulation and Dynamic Rounds features that you must try. For Interactive Simulation, you now have the flexibility of maneuvering in between rounds at any time. Yes, at any given time. As for Dynamic Rounds, you get a segment of the course so that players can advance much faster.
The brand new conversation and interview system allows your player to gain their own personality and fan base through popularity, personality, conversations, and dilemmas. When you’ve finished a tournament, you’ll be invited to attend press conferences and speak with a number of media representatives. You’ll also be receiving messages that include invitations from actual pros and compete in events and invitations from sponsors.
You’ll engage in conversations, and depending on how you do, each conversation can affect your custom player’s personality. As for Dilemmas, you’ll be met with a series of dilemmas that will dictate the outcome of the course. To make it clearer, the choices you make will have an impact on your player’s stats, prompting you to think more cautiously about what your next move will be.

The brand-new Quest System is simply another method for you to earn more daily, weekly, and seasonal rewards. Followed by the GOAT Checklist, that’s strongly based on Tiger Woods’s career. This is where you’ll have to win tournaments, defeat your rivals, build your own fan base, and more.
There’s also the brand new level-up and progression system that involves Level Up Tokens, EvoTools, and Fittings. Plus, these three features are important because they play a role in how players can sort out their equipment and their play styles.
PGA TOUR 2K25 has additional and updated courses for us. Now, we can enjoy 27 fully licensed golf courses, including the 153rd Open at Royal Portrush Golf Club, the 2025 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club, and more. All of these courses are stunningly designed and beautiful to the eye. This is also the case for the course designer, who now features more defined and higher-resolution terrain for you to develop gorgeous courses yourself.
Multiplayer is also enjoyable to play, although beforehand it was quite difficult to get into matches due to, but that’s pretty much the norm. But once I got into matches, like I said, they were enjoyable. Moreover, now that Online Societies are cross-platform, Ranked Tours are another new feature to look out for in PGA TOUR 2K25, as it also gives us more options on how we wish to play, progress, earn cool rewards, and more.
This goes without saying, but PGA TOUR 2K25 is a great step up from its predecessor, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a new sports title to play. The brand-new EvoSwing is unique and different from what I’m used to, but it’s great to use, and it makes golfing much more authentic and rewarding.
Don’t just take my word for it; like I said at the beginning, try the game’s First Look Demo for yourself. On another note, another 2K Sports game I loved playing, last year’s Top Spin 2K25, is not available on PlayStation Plus’ game catalog.
