At devolver Direct, more infor on the next shadow warrior is coming.
Shadow Warrior 3, a sixth game in the long-running ninja shooter series has been announced by Devolver Digital. This is the third entry to be developed by Polish studio Flying Wild Hog. 3D Realms rebooted the franchise after an earlier three entries. The first teaser trailer for Shadow warrior 3 is already released and its built on a pretty good gag.
Lo Wang, the game’s protagonist is contractually obligated to film. Published by Devolver Digital and developed by Flying Wild Dog, the game’s teaser seems genuinely enthusiastic to show off the sequel’s new stuff. Stuff like kill things and a grappling hook. It appears that veteran anime voice actor Jason Liebrecht will return to voice Lo Wang. Tired, ripped-from-1997 “Who wants some Wang?” attempts at humor will not be here. Polish studio Flying Wild Hog is aiming for a completely fresh experience, follow-up to 2016’s Shadow warrior 2. According to game director Kuba Opoń, they are hoping that Shadow Warrior 3 will feel like a homecoming for those fans that have been with us since the beginning. Shadow warrior 2 has quite a bit of hollow feel and Asian stereotypes. The characters are lifeless and the levels are repetitive. There might be a place for a 1997-style game in 2016 — something simple with a narrow focus that plays on many of the lazy, boring and sexist traditions that gaming has left behind. Shadow Warrior 2 isn’t nearly enough. Its unsure whether it’ll bring it to next-gen consoles, too, with the PS5 and Xbox Series X slated to launch this Holiday.
A gameplay trailer and more details about Shadow Warrior 3 will be revealed at Devolver Direct, the publisher’s digital showcase. Devolver Direct will air on Saturday, July 11 at noon PT on Twitch, with more information coming the following week. It will be launching in 2021, with platforms to be confirmed.
