The next big update for Square Enix’s popular Final Fantasy MMO is now scheduled to arrive on August 11 after being delayed by the coronavirus pandemic.
Patches are eagerly awaited by the fanbase for an MMO like Final Fantasy XIV. These updates often provide new characters, items, elements, story, and more in this constantly evolving realm of cooperative play. Players are going to have to wait a little bit longer than they originally thought though the next major patch for Final Fantasy XIV is coming. The patch will be released on 11th August.
It was originally set for a release in June, but was later pushed back into July. And this is not the first time that this update has been pushed back. Now, game producer Naoki Yoshida has confirmed the new release date of August 11. Due to concerns raised over the global COVID-19 pandemic, the development team for Final Fantasy XIV had been working from home. This led to major delays as adjustments have to be made. Yoshida noted that patches for the game will continue at a rate of one every three and a half months following the release of 5.3. Yoshida also confirmed that patch 5.3 will be delayed by “more than a month at the very least,” though the team is doing what they can to avoid delaying it for too long. Final Fantasy XIV has been updated several times and includes some classic locations and enemies from throughout the Final Fantasy franchise. It continues to be one of the most popular MMO RPGs in the world. One such addition was the Fold Saucer, the popular theme park location from Final Fantasy VII.
