Far Cry 5 will be playable in 4K on PlayStation consoles as well as next-generation hardware and Xbox, confirmed by Ubisoft.
Far Car 5 previously supported 4K resolution on PC and newer consoles such as the Xbox Series X and PS4 Pro, but with a new generation of hardware coming for Far Cry 6, players are wondering how it will adapt. As now Ubisoft has cleared up the confusion around the game’s 4K capabilities, players won’t have to wait too long into next year to get their hands on the new sequel.
Far Cry 6 fans spotted some interesting footnotes at the end of the video in the first trailer saying that 4K Ultra HD will be available on Xbox Series X and Xbox One. And that HDR will be possible on newer consoles and Xbox One only. PlayStation players got confused as to whether their consoles would be 4K compatible with Far Cry 6. Ubisoft cleared the confusion by saying that Far Cry 6 will be available in 4K on the PC, PS4 Pro, and PS5. PlayStation fans got reassured because next-generation PS5 and current PS4 will be able to handle the highest tier visuals for Far Cry 6. Why Ubisoft excluded PlayStation consoles from the notes in the trailer is uncertain, but the studio has been quick to clear up the uncertainty now that fans have pointed it out.4K abilities will just work to improve the great world that Ubisoft is working with Far Cry 6. Just in general new scene players will approach a scope of new highlights and characters, for example, a buddy wiener hound named Chorizo and the capacity to see a Far Cry hero in third individual during cutscenes.
However, until official gameplay is released it’s difficult to tell whether the visuals for Far Cry 6 will stack up to those of other next-gen games. Far Cry 6 will be on 18th February 2021 for Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Stadia, PC, PS4, and PS5.
