For the first time on console, Xbox One and Ps4 players now have the chance to experience Unturned, a stylized zombie survival game.
Unturned is an open-world zombie survival title that originally released on PC via Steam in 2017. Sometime this fall, developer FunLabs, and publisher 505 Games will bring the sandbox experience to consoles on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Console players can expect to take advantage of the same gameplay features that PC fans have enjoyed for the last few years.
Unturned released on PC back in 2017 in a free-to-play format. A good way to narrate it would be a fusion between the sandbox style of Roblox and Minecraft and the survival aspects of a game like DayZ. It’s worth trying the game out before making a judgment though the graphics may be off-putting to some. With 505 games promising a refreshed experience, enhanced game mechanics, restricted visuals, and a new deeper unlock progression system, the graphics may improve for this console port as well. There has been no trailer indicating what fans can expect so at the moment it isn’t entirely clear what this means. But at the very least it should be better than what is already available on PC. Multiplayer is a key selling point of this game. Players will have to balance radiation, health, water, food, and other hazards in order to survive. Unturned players are dropped into the shoes of one of the remaining survivors with modern society in ruins. Across a total of eight maps, players must work alongside allies and friends to outlast the daily pressures of life in a zombie apocalypse. While online, players can join friends, forge new alliances, or make enemies in the open-world.
Players can face the perils of the zombie apocalypse with friends in split-screen and online. PVP is just as viable as co-op depending on what sort of experience the player is looking for. Unturned console edition releases this fall for Xbox One and PS4.
