Risk of Rain 2, released in April 2019, was expected to go to complete release from open beta this year. According to a quick Google search, Spring 2020 will conclude just a month from now, and designer Hopoo Games today has stated that the scheduled dispatch is not scheduled. The studio tweeted “As we all know, the next update is 1.0, the last update until we leave Early Access. Earlier this month, I ran a quick tweet to get some feedback on what RoR2 1.0 may look like to you”. And in response, not only did they discover that they can likewise look from certain aspects of evolution, but also that people are curious about what RoR2 1.0 might be — with multiple phenomenal ideas and opinions on items that were not part of the first guide.
On the statement placed by Hopoo Games Team in steam, “What we wanted to make sure was that RoR2 1.0 was truly a complete game experience, and that means not only completing and fleshing out content, but improving and iterating on old features and content that’s been left behind. In order to meet goals of what a 1.0 version of RoR2 can be, we want to let everyone know we will be releasing 1.0 in August 2020.” Claiming that the delay was not a result of the outbreak of COVID-19 and that the pandemic was “mostly unaffected.” The new level, bosses, objects, apps and, most importantly, the inclusion of the server browser, will be included in the expanded plans for the full release. The pause couldn’t derive from the COVID-19 flame retardation and says that the pandemic was “in most cases uninfluenced.” Instead, expanded designs for full discharge are planned, including another process, managers, things, equipment, and, most of all, the server system expansion.
Hopoo added, “We think a built-in Server Browser (and hosting) will still allow you to connect and find other players easily while providing a lot of the features and choices you want to make before connecting to a game. Quickplay served an important function at launch, especially because we didn’t know how popular the game may become – but the QP feature set is barebones. Not only that, but the game has evolved past needing to just find a match – you need to find the right match”.
The relocation of host is still not available. Hopoo expressed confidence that allowing people to play the games they want, in contrast with quick-play impulses, means that there will be less occurrences of individuals stopping games for “fixable reasons.” The studio is looking for more innovative “Designer Thoughts,” “that contain any fascinating highlights or options we include,” which paved the way for complete update.
