With Quake 3 on the way soon thanks to a charity drive at QuakeCon, Bethesda announces Quake 2 is free to own for a limited time.
Bethesda has declared that Quake 2 is allowed to claim on the Bethesda Launcher temporarily as a feature of Bethesda’s festival of QuakeCon. Intrigued players should act speedy, as the giveaway will just go on until 12 PM ET on August 15. That gives fans just shy of 72 hours to sign in and reclaim their compensation to keep forever. As redeeming the game is easy, it’s best not to wait though.
Quake was free on August 7 temporarily too, so it just bodes well that Quake 2 would follow. On August 17, Quake 3 will likewise open up for free, finishing the trifecta of exemplary shooters. Despite the fact that these games are unquestionably somewhat dated, their brightness radiates through today, and old and new fans the same will have an awesome time playing them. All players need to do to get the game is simply log in to their Bethesda Launchers. Doing so should add the title to the player’s library automatically, and fans should be prepared to do the same for Quake 3 on August 17. As of now, there is no word about Quake 4 being free to own any time soon, but if that happens it will likely be a few days after Quake 3’s promotion ends.
