The Elite Dangerous game developers have decided to concentrate on one codebase.
Frontiers Developments studio, responsible for the Elite Dangerous: Odyssey development decided to cancel the console version of the project.
Reportedly, the launch of Odyssey led to the separation of codebases and their separate support. The developers came to understand that it’ll be hard to achieve any significant progress and achievements in development, so they decided to focus only on one base.
The game will continue to exist on game consoles in its current form, with possible patches to fix critical bugs.
From now on, all the creators’ focus will be shifted to supporting and polishing the PC version of the title.
I would also remind you that the console version of Elite Dangerous was postponed last year due to multiple problems caused by the scandalous Odyssey update.
And now – don’t forget to pick up a new giveaway game in EGS.
Here at GamesCreed, my colleague Joshua Burt covers the new free games in the Epic Games Store every week. Stay tuned!
