Dying on Light developer Techland discharges the Hellraid DLC extension following its postponement to address player criticism from an ongoing beta test.
With PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions coming tomorrow, Polish developer Techland officially released Dying Light’s Hellraid DLC on PC today. According to Techland, the expansion, which was delayed in July after a Hellraid beta test led to player feedback, costs $9.99 on Steam and will receive free content updates as soon as September.
This expansion brings players into a possessed arcade machine with a “dark fantasy vibe” that replaces Dying Light’s zombies with demonic skeletons and beasts such as a minotaur trapped in pillory. New swords, axes, and hammers have been added to help players, and there is a ranked system that will be expanded further to include more weapons through free updates. According to the launch trailer’s description, additional content coming to Hellraid includes collectibles that will enrich the lore as well as a bounty system. Dying Light’s Hellraid DLC was announced in April, and fans of the game who are still waiting to hear more about Dying Light 2 can take on this demonic, medieval-themed challenge with up to four players.
Dying Light 2, the sequel to Techland’s still-popular survival game released in 2015, was indefinitely delayed this January. Techland has responded to Dying Light 2’s allegedly messy development by letting fans know the game is still on track, though no official release window has been announced. In the wake of Dying Light 2 was postponed, Techland split with essayist Chris Avellone following various inappropriate behavior claims. Avellone was the game’s story originator before his termination, which may experience added to the difficulties that have purportedly kept this since quite a while ago foreseen title in obscurity. That being stated, take a shot at Dying Light’s Hellraid DLC has not influenced improvement on Dying Light 2, as per Senior PR Manager Ola Sondej.
Whether this simply referred to Hellraid’s upcoming expansions or to separate DLC will have to be seen going forward. Dying Light is available now on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
