The Molasses Flood developed next game Drake Hollow has been delayed indefinitely just a few days before its previous July release date.
Drake Hollow is pushing out from a planned launch on July 17. A short message from studio director Forrest Dowling explained that the delay is down to technical issues. Issues that can’t be delved into due to NDA restrictions.
Forrest couldn’t share clear details of why the delay is happening. He mentioned that the reasons are boring, complicated to explain, all under NDA anyway and boring. The news came from Twitter which belongs to Forrest. Fortunately, the team is promising to share that news when it can because they were not able to offer a new date at this time. Drake Hollow includes both a more narrative-oriented campaign and a sandbox mode. It’s a cooperative village-builder mix with wave-based defense mechanics and survival. The game is headed to PC and Xbox One. You and three friends can raise drakes and build settlements. There will be also sentient plants that you will need to keep entertained, feed and shelter. But if you don’t hold their interest, they literally die. The drakes will help you defend your base by manning weapons you build or suppling energy to automated defenses with treadmills.
The Molasses Flood’s previous survival game, The Flame in the Flood, launched in 2016, shortly after the studio of AAA veterans opened. Developer The Molasses Flood previously created the well-received The Flame in the Flood. Drake Hollow will eventually launch for Xbox One and PC on Steam and the Windows Store.
