It has been some time coming, but Call of Duty Season Four is finally available for all Call of Duty players to acquire. It is rather crazy that even before we had Season Three, Season Four had been filled with rumors and coverage as to what we would be getting. That would tell you a lot as to how much content this season would be getting.
Especially when it comes to Outbreak, even though Outbreak Season Three was great, you would sense that with all the hype, Season Four would be better. There are noticeable differences in content in this brand-new season, and one of the key changes is the brand-new Easter Egg.
If you have been playing last Season’s Outbreak, then you would know that the second Outbreak Easter Egg was unavailable because it wasn’t ready yet. So, they had to make sure it had the finishing touches on it so that it was ready for launch. This wasn’t necessarily a problem because it’s best they had done it properly rather than deliver a rushed Easter Egg, which would have resulted in frustrated zombie players.
Just like many other Easter Eggs, for the best experience, you should be playing it with your friends. Let’s not forget that in Season Four, Outbreak has a brand-new map, and the name is Zoo. This is another reason for zombie players to be excited about this season, not to mention the brand-new challenges that players face.
Call of Duty Outbreak Season Four arrived on June 17, 2021, and is available on platforms ranging from Microsoft Windows to Xbox Series X and S. The file is massive, so, ideally, you have a lot of available space on your platform. Plus, it does take some time to download, depending on the speed of your internet. It is fair to say that Season Four is most definitely an upgrade to last season. Although some improvements are needed, it’s still better.
The brand-new Easter Egg was a fun experience. A few steps were a little tricky, but I still got the job done. You would not need to be worried about the Easter Egg needing to take a long time because this shouldn’t take any more than approximately a few hours to complete. This is a somewhat good amount of time it should be for an Easter Egg quest, so Treyarch did a great job on that.
Before starting the quest, it is ideal that you have a good loadout; otherwise, it would be more difficult to complete the Easter Egg, especially the boss fight. If you wish to complete it on your own, you would need to use the Frenzied Guard Tier V for your field upgrade. However, if you opt to go through it with friends, then one of you should equip the Ring of Fire Tier V and possibly the Frenzied Guard Tier V, and you could also have the Healing Aura Tier V.
For the loadout weapon, you should go with the M16, as everyone knows it inflicts much more damage than any other assault rifle in Cold War Zombies. Not many people know this, but you won’t be able to start it until you reach round three. This was intriguing because, normally, you can start from the very first round. This is a surprise, and Treyarch deserves more praise for changing things up a bit with this Easter Egg.
While most of the quest was good, the boss fight was underwhelming. It reminded me so much of the one from Der Eisendrache in Black Ops 3. There is very little creativity shown in that, and it did not make me feel like I was in an authentic battle because it felt like I had been through it before.
For example, having to cause damage by shooting the heart while a hoard of Zombies is attacking you. It was great to see there is a cut scene after completing the quest, and it was a rather interesting one. Although it was a very short-cut scene, the cliffhanger had you wondering about what is going on and possibly getting you amped up for the next Easter Egg that would probably arrive next season.
The new Zoo map is definitely worth trying. This is not your typical Treyarch-styled zombie map, and it delivers that fresh vibe. Like the other Outbreak maps, this one is also very large and allows you to explore the map fully and enjoy the view.
There are plenty of places where you can train zombies effectively, and the design and colors of the map are fantastic. The challenges that come with the map would motivate any Zombies player to complete them. It’s great that every season, we are given brand-new challenges to keep us from getting bored with them. Treyarch did not put a foot wrong. It is very difficult to find even one negative on this map.
This season’s Outbreak is surely an upgrade from last season. This is mostly down to the new Easter Egg and the new map. It was well worth having to wait two seasons to play the new Easter Egg. As mentioned, the only drawback I noticed is the lack of originality in the boss fight. The Zoo map is so much fun that I would want to play it for many hours without stopping. I am very excited about Outbreak Season Five.
