Last season was the introduction of brand-new Zombies Outbreak mode, where you are playing Zombies in an open world. You get to play in much larger maps and finally drive vehicles, and those are among many other new features that made the game mode almost perfect.
As mentioned, this new Outbreak game mode was as if Treyarch had finally listened to us Zombies players and had also implemented many more features to make this a truly awesome experience. I had so much fun with Outbreak; I cannot get enough of it. I can honestly say that I had so much fun with this game mode—even more fun than the original Zombies game mode.
Playing by myself was exciting, but playing with a crew was far better, and that goes without saying, especially when we were completing the first-ever Outbreak Easter Egg.
Although the game had far too many awesome features and new elements, just one or two things could have been included to make it more playable, such as the ping system, which would have allowed me to highlight to my teammates where exactly certain items, locations, enemies, and so on are seen.
Nonetheless, it was a phenomenal experience, and I can’t wait to see how the Outbreak mode improves in Season Three of Call of Duty. Through all the anticipation and hype, I was expecting Outbreak to be much more improved from the previous season.
I initially figured that it would be more challenging to outdo the previous version considerably, but I must say that I was very wrong about that. The mode has improved much more in Season Three. Treyarch has done a great job improving Outbreak, and it is fair to say that at least most zombie gamers would agree with me.
Season Three of Call of Duty arrived on April 22, 2021, and is available on platforms ranging from Microsoft Windows to Xbox Series X and S. The update file is massive because it includes approximately 117 brand-new changes.
As I started playing the new and improved Outbreak mode, I realized that the objectives for players to complete are expanded, and that makes things better, as I eventually got bored when having to do over the same targets.
Now, it is great that we get fresher objectives to complete. I would hope that Treyarch keeps adding new objectives every season to reignite the thrill of players like myself wanting to achieve them.
Within the last couple of weeks, Zombies players would experience a very strange glitch when they would get permanently banned from Call of Duty if they were to either get to a certain round or even start playing Zombies or Outbreak.
It’s a good thing Treyarch rectified this situation soon enough so that zombie players like myself can enjoy playing without having to worry about serious bugs such as those mentioned above.
The wonder weapon hasn’t necessarily improved a lot in terms of originality because Treyarch had simply added the wonder weapon from the first Zombies map of the game Die Maschine. However, that doesn’t mean I wasn’t satisfied.
The methods for acquiring the weapon are relatively the same, but the locations of different parts and steps have changed, obviously because I was playing on a different map. The best thing about doing the quest is that some of the steps that were more difficult in Die Maschine were much easier on the Outbreak map, as the Outbreak map is much bigger.
Therefore, there was much more space for me to complete the initially difficult tasks. The number of perks is the same, which is not a problem. But I would enjoy the perks more if they included more traditional perks like a double-tap in Outbreak to improve my zombie’s gameplay.
Along with Season 3 Outbreak, Treyarch also introduced a new region called Duga. I had so much fun in it, and it’s much more enjoyable with teammates. As Duga was large, it was relatively easy to train zombies, especially on high rounds.
However, when on high rounds, I recommend avoiding places like the cornfield or even not going there so often to lower your risk of getting trapped by zombies.
Ultimately, Treyarch managed to outdo themselves and bring in many more additions to Outbreak to keep players like myself hanging around without wanting to take a break from it. Unfortunately, the main Easter Egg isn’t ready at this time and will be available for use on the Season 3 reloaded update, and we will be able to play and complete that very soon.
This is understandable, as Treyarch is probably taking more time with it to make sure its delivery is perfect. However, there are still some features that haven’t been added to Call of Duty, such as the ping mechanic, as it would be easier to point out to my teammates where certain items and locations are. I would hope this would be included in Season Four.
