Xbox Game Pass has confirmed that Yakuza Kiwami 2, the second remastered title in the Yakuza series, will be available for service in July.
Over-the-top combat, on top of the fast-paced Yakuza series, has tons of memorable characters. Following the release of Yakuza 0 and the subsequent releases of the two remastered Kiwami titles, the Yakuza series gained a bit more mainstream notoriety in the West. Now, Xbox Game Pass is adding Yakuza Kiwami 2 to the service to continuing build up its Yakuza collection.
From its original release in 2005 to 2019, Yakuza has remained a PlayStation exclusive. Before that, the series only found a home on the Playstation family of consoles. During the company’s XO19 event last year, Xbox announced that multiple Yakuza games were coming to PC and Xbox.
Now, Xbox slowly began adding the titles to the Xbox Game Pass service over time. The official Xbox Game Pass Twitter confirmed that Yakuza Kiwami 2 will arrive on the platform on July 30 to complete the first three games in the series. But there is still no word on whether or not Xbox Plans to bring over the Yakuza Remastered Collection, which was released on Yakuza 6 or PS4 in early 2020, to complete the series.
Xbox will work to complete Kiryu’s story on Xbox if they get enough positive reception and feedback. The title is well worth the wait for those players who own Game Pass, while Xbox players will have to wait until the end of July to get their hands on Yakuza Kiwami 2. Additionally, the loveable protagonist, Kiryu, makes the series’ story all the more engaging. The series is brimming with charm in both its gameplay and story.
For now, Xbox players can enjoy the first three installments of Kiryu’s story through Xbox Game Pass. Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza 0 are available on Xbox One, with Yakuza Kiwami 2 releasing on Xbox One on July 30, 2020. All three titles are available now on PS4 and PC.
