In a new update for Wild Hearts, many of the performance issues have been addressed since the game’s not-so-stellar release.
To say that Wild Hearts had a rocky start, would be an understatement. Since its release on 16 February 2023, the game had multiple bugs and performance problems such as framerate issues, particularly on the PC version of the game. Players should rejoice, as shortly after news of these issues arose, a patch was released for the PC version almost a week later.
Wild Hearts serves as the developer, Omega Force’s first venture into the monster-hunting genre and so far, despite its performance issues, has received positive praise from gamers and critics alike. It seems that Omega Force has successfully been to make Wild Hearts stand out amongst similar titles, such as Monster Hunter.
The first patch for Wild Hearts promises to fix the various technical issues that players were experiencing on high-end PCs such as; CPU bottlenecking, numerous audio glitches, rendering issues for AMD users, and a bug that would corrupt player save files. It is currently unclear how badly these glitches have affected the game’s reception. The quick patching of these issues will surely keep Omega Force on their player’s good side.
When the PC version of Wild Hearts was initially released it sat with mostly negative reviews on Steam. However, things have changed since the release of the new patch, and the game now sits with a review rating of “Mixed.” Most of the reviews are pointing out the game’s multiple technical issues but there are also some positive reviews mixed in, with many saying the game is a hidden gen for the monster hunting genre.
Despite its rocky start, things can only get better for Wild Hearts and it would make sense for Omega Force to continue building on the game once the PC version has been stabilized. Hearts is available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
