Netflix to put pressure on Ubisoft for the Assassin’s Creed Netflix series for a teaser.
Ubisoft announced years ago an Assassin’s Creed-related project called Assassin’s Creed Netflix, but it has been very quiet since then. While a Netflix series based on Assassin’s Creed sounded quite exciting, there haven’t been any meaningful updates in a while.
In 2020, Ubisoft and Netflix announced a major agreement to bring Assassin’s Creed to the streaming platform. The project was supposed to include a live-action show, an animated series, and even an anime. The live-action show was planned to be a genre-bending epic, with Ubisoft’s Jason Altman and Daniel Kreinick serving as executive producers.
But here’s the thing: they didn’t even have a confirmed showrunner at the time. Fast-forward a little while, and the last major update we had was in 2022, when Jeff Stewart, who worked on Netflix’s Vikings Valhalla, apparently quit the project. Since then, it has remained entirely silent.
This silence from Ubisoft is perhaps because of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which will finally be released on February 14, 2025. So, we can expect to hear more updates on Assassin’s Creed Netflix in the coming months, perhaps in March 2025 with a teaser trailer. Netflix is always hungry for projects like this, and I’m sure they’ll constantly chase Ubisoft for Assassin’s Creed Netflix series. And we hope that they do.
