CD Projekt RED released a new patch for The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt across all platforms… except for the Nintendo Switch
A new patch has been released for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. This patch includes a few minor bug fixes and is the first update for the game since the next gen update for The Witcher 3.
The Next-Gen Update for The Witcher 3 brought improvements to graphics, a performance mode, and ray tracing. While it was praised by both gamers and critics alike, the update wasn’t free from issues. Upon its release, there were reports of technical issues and stuttering, especially on PC.
To rectify this, CD Projekt RED released two hotfixes before the New Year. While most of the issues were resolved, players still experienced issues with the “Battle Preparations” quest, particularly interacting with Avallac’h. Hopefully with update 4.01 that glitch will finally be resolved.
Besides the Avallac’h glitch, the patch also includes various fixes for PC. These include a performance mode for ray-traced global illumination and fixing a Screen Space Reflection issue. On console, players can now no longer go over the save slot limit. Screen Space Reflections are also improved for next-gen consoles.
Also included in this patch are small improvements to various cutscenes and quests. It has been over 8 years since the Witcher 3 first released and the game is arguably one of the most successful games in videogame history. With the recent Next-Gen Update, players both new and old will get to see places such as Kaer Morhen given new life. The Witcher 3 Next-Gen Update is available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
