The next update for Vampire Survivors has been teased by it’s developer.
Vampire Survivors is one of those small indie games that no one was really expecting to explode, and oh boy, has it definitely done that. There was a ton of content added to the game in 2023 and now it would seem that there is still more to come. On the game’s official Steam page, the developers seem to be teasing at other projects and gameplay aspects being added to the game.
This update teaser was posted following the launch of Vampire Survivors’ third paid expansion, Emergency Meeting, which was launched alongside patch 1.8, the Deplorable Update. As you could probably tell by the name, this expansion was a crossover with another surprise indie success, Among Us. This expansion added new playable characters to the game, Crew mate and Imposter, as well as a pixelated Polis Replica map, where players would fight for survival and interestingly enough, not against vampires.
But last year’s updates are a thing of the past and now in the new year, Poncle gave players a fun new year’s update. In a post shared to the official Vampire Survivors Twitter account, the developers recapped everything that happened in 2023 and all the achievements they have made so far and also clarified that the team is indeed looking to add online multiplayer as well as cross-save functionality. Sadly, this feature was delayed due to protection laws but luckily for us, cross-save will be launching in February. The team also shared that an official Vampire Survivors animated series was in the works.
Sadly, due to actor and writers strikes, we’ll probably only hear more about the show later in 2024. As for what we can expect in terms of gameplay, Poncle has revealed that the next major update, 1.9 update, Space54, has been codenamed Honeymoon
