Ubisoft has ended the online support for many famous titles.
Recently Ubisoft have announced that a set of over 90 games from the Ubisoft repertoire have lost their online support. In an article on the companies official website they confirmed the games that would be losing their support. They did clarify that the single player would not be affected and in most cases any of the games that could be played on modern consoles were more accepted and did not lose online support.
However, what this does lead to is that many of the games that were developed for the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 have innately been gutted of their online features. A slew of Just Dance titles have lost their online support alongside various other titles. Some of the titles have only lost their online support on specific platforms, but other games such as Rainbow Six Vegas 1 & 2 have lost their ability to play online at all in general.
Games such as: Anno 2070, Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed 3, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, Driver: San Francisco, Far Cry 3, Silent Hunter 5 and Splinter Cell: Blacklist were originally found on the list, but were actually only taken offline temporarily on the older consoles.
In addition to this, any units and challenges for the games that utilised Ubisoft connect will be disabled. Furthermore, any content earned through Ubisoft connect such as maps or skins have also been disabled meaning players will no longer be able to unlock them.
