The Witcher 3’s desired next generation upgrade has suffered another setback in an already robust litany of setbacks.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has still maintained it’s position in many peoples minds as the greatest game of all time. Even nearly seven years after its’ release. Even more considering that in these past years fans have purchased nearly 40 million copies of The Witcher 3 since it’s release. CD Projekt Red created one of the best games of all time that has indelibly lasted throughout the years.
This makes the most recent announcement bittersweet for fans. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt next gen has been delayed indefinitely following what can only be described as a development mess. Originally meant to be developed by Saber Interactive, the next gen upgrade has faced numerous delays following the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The official Witcher twitter account made this statement:
Development of the next gen version of The Witcher 3 will now be done in house by CD Projekt Red. CD Projekt Red will keep everyone informed as development continues on this project. We do not know the full details of what the next gen version of The Witcher 3 will contain, but there was a statement that new armour would be added to refer to the hit television series The Witcher on Netflix.
This information comes as we learned news of how The Witcher 4 is currently in development which no doubt has many more fans salivating at the prospect of returning to a world that became so popular for fans.
