The fabled next gen update for The Witcher 3 is coming December 14th.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s next gen update and release has gone through a turbulent time. Originally, the experience was to be developed by Saber Interactive but was then taken over by CD Projekt Red who also insisted that the game was not in ‘development hell’.
The next gen update will have a whole host of goodies including “ray tracing support, faster loading times on consoles, as well as a variety of mods integrated into the experience, among many others.” This is in addition to the new content that will be added to the game based on the Netflix show.
CD Projekt Red announced this via the official Witcher twitter account:
More details regarding this new update will be revealed in a twitch stream that will occur sometime next week with a supposed physical next gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt coming ‘at a later date’. Fans of The Witcher 3 will finally be able to experience the game in stunning 4k with better loading times and frame rate and is free for anyone who already owns the game.
