Either fight the darkness or dive right in with Risk of Rain 2’s second DLC Character, the Void Fiend.
In a follow up to their previous Dev Thoughts post, Hopoo Games has published another Dev Thoughts Log detailing the second new DLC character for their upcoming DLC: Survivors of the Void.
Of course, primary to this posting is the new character, known as the Void Fiend.
Void Fiend will be operating under a unique mechanic, detailed in their passive: ‘Void Corruption’. They will have two forms, a controlled form and a corrupted form. Corruption builds up slowly as you play, with it increasing as you take damage and decreasing when you heal. However, the corruption will take its toll eventually, and Void Fiend will inevitably swap ‘stances’ once their corruption hits max.
Each form has its own exclusive set of skills, with the Corrupted form’s being more powerful due to its limited lifespan. As the other side of coin, the Corrupted form has its corruption decrease while the form is up, giving you a limited amount of time to harness these stronger abilities.
The Void Fiend is not the only thing this Dev Thoughts Log has for us. It also informs us that Risk of Rain 2 and Survivors of the Void will be coming to the Epic Store at the same time that the DLC comes to Steam, for the same $15 price tag and $9.75 discount price on its release. In addition, the DLC is still scheduled for a timely Quarter 2 release on consoles.
