This month was intended to be the release date for the multiplayer freemium for ‘Resident Evil Village’ owners.
Resident Evil Re: Verse, the most awaiting multiplayer take on the creepy series, is the newest project to be pushed back until 2022. Well, It’s almost surprising when a major game scheduled for 2021 isn’t postponed at this time. Meanwhile, Capcom is putting the game’s release date on hold only a week or two before it was due to be released. And that’s the most unusual thing about all this is happening.
The resident evil crew mentioned all their plans and decisions in a tweet. Capcom advertised Re: Verse as a free bonus for Resident Evil Village owners. The studio also mentioned that those who possess a physical copy of Village should keep theirs Re: Verse download code secure. And they advised that not only they can secure their download, they should also add it to their account. This way they’ll be ready to go when the game launches. In this game, you can return from death but as a zombie. And, after five minutes, the player with the most points wins.
Re: Verse is essentially a standalone deathmatch game in which four to six players choose a Resident Evil character and engage in brief combat. In this COVID-19’s impact, we have seen that delays are absolutely needed. After all, Game creation is a complicated process that may go wrong in a variety of ways time and time again. Though, the example of Re: Verse being delayed by at least six months at the last minute is curious worthy. A significant delay suggests that the game is still not ready. Many gamers who were looking forward to Re: Verse will be disgruntled by the delay.
But still, it’s preferable to have a late-game that works perfectly right away rather than one that requires months of post-launch hotfixes and bigger updates to solve issues.
