There were some truly outstanding games this year, and many of them were also worthy of the title. However, they were simply not as deserving as the post-apocalyptic game The Last of Us Part II, which has officially won Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2020.
In fact, The Last of Us Part II relatively dominated the awards by winning six titles today. If you had gotten the chance to play this absolute masterpiece, you would most definitely understand why it won many awards, including the leading award, which was Best Game. However, if you haven’t played in yet, then you are missing out big time.
The awards won by The Last Of Us Part II:
- Best Game of the Year
- Best Narrative
- Best Audio Design
- Best Action-Adventure Game
- Innovation in Accessibility
- Best Direction
Naughty Dog has expressed its delight on its official Twitter by saying, “After a year full of so many brilliant games, having The Last of Us II win Game of the Year at The Game Awards is such an immense honour. Congratulations to the team, our cast and crew, and all of our partners at PlayStation and beyond!”
