Composer for The Last Of Us could have just revealed a re-release of Naughty Dog’s The Last Of Us Part 2 in a recent interview.
After HBO’s fantastic adaptation of The Last Of Us it is no surprise that fans of the franchise are desperately waiting for news of more content coming our way. And it seems like that wait is coming to a close with rumours of a re-release of The Last Of Us 2 being just around the corner. The remake of The Last Of Us Part One was incredibly well received when it came out earlier last year. As well as the incredible upgrade in graphics some new features and mechanics were added to the game that really let the remake shine as a separate entity from the original.
An optimisation patch for The Last Of Us 2 PS5 has been on the minds of fans since Part One hit the stores. And with a multiplayer spin-off in the works and rumours of a threequel flying left, right and centre it seems like fans are more than ready to spend more time in the world of both the games and the show.
But now it seems like only a matter of time before an announcement of The Last Of Us 2 re-release, or at least a patch for PlayStation 5, comes our way. In an interview with the games, composer Gustavo Santaolalla was asked how he had felt seeing himself in the game. While exploring Jackson, the player can visit a home with the in-game model of Gustavo as he sits. He is not an interactable part of the game… yet.
In the interview, which was conducted in Spanish, Gustavo said he was looking forward to players in the new version of the game being able to request songs from his character. He quickly then states that he can’t discuss the matter further. Speculation has obviously sprung from this, with many fans clearly hoping that an updated version of The Last Of Us Part II is on its way despite the fact it was only initially released in 2020. Will it be too soon? Or will the recent strives in the gaming industry prove the game is deserving of a remake so soon?
