Gamers will definitely turn to emulation to keep the Xbox 360 classics alive.
Although it may be saddening, we have come to witness the formal closing of the Xbox 360 shop, which will undoubtedly mark the end of an era. I will assert that the Xbox 360 was a fantastic gaming system. The quantity of digital titles was also on the rise, with Xbox Arcade and other Xbox services playing a significant role in this trend.
Thankfully, Xbox has graciously brought back a large portion of the Xbox 360 library to their newer platforms, ensuring compatibility with older versions of the games. This is an outstanding accomplishment and means that the Xbox 360 shop removal will not have a significant effect on the issue, at least according to their calculations.
The Xbox One and previous Xbox series consoles are not compatible with every game, and some of those that do not even have electronic versions. The fact is that there are not a ton of games in this category, but here is where I have a high appreciation for the community that strive to emulate games. Those in this role are the true advocates for cultural preservation. Along with this, I will state it strongly: emulation has come a long way.
That being said, in my current view, emulating the Xbox 360 is a rather good choice. To those that are interested, there are now Xbox 360 systems that have been hacked to cater to that niche. On top of that, you should know that this is exactly what the 3DS community has been telling us for the last year; it is amazing to see how the 3DS shop shutdown has contributed to the growth of that community.
But even though the its official lifespan has ended, Xbox is still not interested in charging us for these titles. This is true, despite the fact that Microsoft has declared the Xbox 360 to be discontinued. Alternately, you are free to pursue other paths. That is all for now, folks.
