You could play the game as long as you had a copy of it.
Sony’s Ghost of Tsushima has offered a free cooperative multiplayer option dubbed Legends since last autumn. Sony is planning to release a standalone version of Legends, similar to what Rockstar did with Red Dead Online. It will be purchasable for $20 on September 3rd.
That first point is crucial because Sucker Punch has a number of free Legends upgrades planned, the most noteworthy of which is a new mode called Rivals, which will be released on the same day as the solo release. The mode will be available for $19.99 beginning September 3rd. Aside from some in-game cosmetics that can only be obtained by playing through Ghost of Tsushima’s single-player story, everything that is featured in the full game version is also included here, and you may play with others who have the complete experience.
Sucker Punch has more Legends upgrades in the works, including a range of quality-of-life improvements. The company also aims to release content every week until October 1st, starting on September 10th. Players may expect new Survival mode areas as well as a more difficult version of last year’s raid. Rivals, which borrows from Destiny 2’s Gambit game, puts two teams of two players against waves of monsters. As you kill enemies, you’ll get access to a resource known as “Magatama,” which you may use to stall the enemy side by throwing curses on them. After you’ve spent enough Magatama, you’ll be able to access the last wave. If you can defeat it, you’ll be won that game.
After playing through Legends, if you want to go through Ghost of Tsushima’s single-player campaign, you can upgrade to the Director’s Cut, which contains the complete story and a new island to explore, for $40 on PS4 and $50 on PS5.
