The Battlefield 2042 petition had already garnered much traction but has now hit a new high point.
The Battlefield 2042 petition had 50,000 signatures and it seems it has had no end in sight. Since that original spike in players begging EA and Dice for a refund on the infamous title, we have seen a growth in signatures of over 100,000 more.
177,350 people have now proclaimed their distaste for this project at the time of writing this article and the number continues to grow at an astounding limit. After the Dice announcement of the season one delay, the Battlefield community has been in an uproar. This petition began almost 3 weeks ago and is now aiming for a major height of 200,000 signatures which would make it one of the most signed petitions on Change.org ever!
This petition may bear no fruit with companies such as EA; however, the release of Cyberpunk 2077 almost two years ago proves that companies like SONY are more than willing to refund or even remove copies of games from their store altogether due to fan outrage.
Fans are hoping to see some results following this major debacle and wish to see themselves refunded for a game that they believe is unfinished and broken. With luck, Dice can hopefully get the first season out and potentially reclaim their player base, but considering the rather prominent outpour of hate, Battlefield 2042 may, unfortunately, be dying a slow death.
