Gaming Company Tencent just officially announced Don’t Starve: Newhome. The next to-play mobile entry is in the prolific. Players and fans don’t need to starve. The game will expand upon the foundation of the previous Don’t Starve game. The new release will also bump up the Don’t Starve’’s multiplayer component and survival gameplay mechanics.
Tencent did not give a specific release date for the new game, so it’s not confirmed when a full version will come out. Newhome goes into a closed beta phase next month, which players can sign up for on its website. The game doesn’t seek to shake things up entirely, but it refines the series formula in a mobile format for free-to-play audiences.
As is the case with most game sequels, Newhome is trying to change the well-liked formula. Developed by Shengqu Games and published by Tencent Games, the next installment in the console aims to keep the cartoonish art style. It will also add gameplay mechanics fit for mobile devices and a new campaign mode. It will also add a revamped progression system and new co-op multiplayer gameplay.
Expanding on 2013’s Don’t Starve base building, the game will include a wide variety of enable players to construct homes and crafting options. Though Tencent did not state any specific additions regarding this, they will add new enemy types. Crafting will remain a huge part of Newhome.
