Nobody was expecting a new The Elder Scrolls game on the market until the next five years, but here we are.
Bethesda is currently busy with Starfield, we all know that, but out of nowhere, they were spotted releasing a new game for the mobile platform recently. This mobile game might seem familiar to you because it is based on their other hit mobile game, Fallout Shelter. In Fallout Shelter, you, as an overseer, had to manage a vault and take care of your residents during your work.
Currently being at early access, The Elder Scrolls: Castles provides similar gameplay to Fallout Shelter, where you have to manage your castle, sort out problems, take care of your citizens, and send knights into battles. Bethesda might have been lazy on this one, but their gameplay formula worked very well on Fallout Shelter, so there is nothing wrong with that at all.
Creating your own might seem a bit redundant, however, players have to build their own characters and send them to certain places, have them fight well-known foes of the The Elder Scrolls universe, and bring back resources to keep the castle on its feet. Castle owners also need to
For the people who played Fallout Shelter back in the day, these gameplay mechanics are awfully similar to the core gameplay. Still, The Elder Scrolls: Castles, will occupy the people who are currently waiting for the new The Elder Scrolls game to drop. The title is currently available to everyone on Google Play Store as a free game. However, do not be surprised if the game disappears from your phone, as it is still in early access. It might even end up being a paid game too, though chances of that are very slim.
Last week, there was a huge leak of Bethesda’s internal plans with Microsoft, and a plan to release another free-to-play was discussed. Seems like the free-to-play that was being pointed out could easily be The Elder Scrolls: Castles. Still, the game is available to check out, though do not get dissatisfied if the game plays just like Fallout: Shelter because that is the point of it.
