Test the waters with Street Fighter 6 as the showcase announced demo.
Attention Street Fighter fans, boy don’t we have a surprise for you? Street Fighter 6 will be releasing in June 2, 2023, and yesterday, there was a showcase that was hosted by Grammy award-winning hip hop artist, Dwayne Michael Carter Jr – also know as Lil Wayne. The event was shown on ‘CapcomFighter’s Twitch, spanning over 1 hour and 30 minutes. Not to fret, if you had missed the show, then head over to the aforementioned’s Twitch and you can watch the replay of the entire stream.
The showcase comprised of much more features the game has to offer such as much more gameplay footage, the mechanics, the characters (including new ones such as: Rashid, Ed, and Akuma), game modes and other content. Narrated by individuals such as the game’s director, Takayuki Nakayama and its executive producer, Shuhei Matsumoto.
Street Fighter 6 is a single and multiplayer fighting game developed and published by Capcom. The release will consist of 18 characters, including new ones. Plus, future fighters will be released upon future DLC’s. If you’d like more information about the game and the showcase, head over to Lil Wayne Will Host Street Fighter 6 Showcase article.
This may pose as a surprise for some of you, but there was a first closed beta that arrived between October 7, 2022 – October 11, 2022. Then the second closed beta was from December 16, 2022 – December 19, 2022. But don’t be too disheartened, because the only way you could’ve possibly played was via lottery. Not saying for definite that you wouldn’t have played, but there was a strong likelihood you wouldn’t have.
Now, it’s a completely different ball game. Street Fighter 6’s demo is now open and available for everyone to play – but there is just one thing; only PlayStation 4 and 5 owners can play the demo right now. Meanwhile, Xbox Series X and PC players will have to wait until April 26 to enjoy.
For PlayStation users, in order to be able to play the demo, you need to download it, right? And here’s how, it’s real simple:
- Head over to the PlayStation store.
- Type ‘Street Fighter 6’ in the search bar.
- Click on the game.
- You should see a file that says ‘Street Fighter 6 demo’.
- Download and enjoy.
According to Street Fighter’s Twitter, the demo only allows you to do the following:
- Train with iconic character, Ryu and and Luke – who was previously a character DLC, and is now the game’s cover fighter.
- Experiment with the new Avatar customisation.
- Play the World Tour mode.
This is only a taste of what we will be getting, but this is more than enough to get us amped for the next Street Fighter game. Street Fighter 6 is currently available to preorder in your platform’s respective stores.
