Street Fighter 6 has been revealed, and excitement around the titular fighting game grows.
Street Fighter 6 was revealed six years after Street Fighter 5 was released in 2016 to a rather tepid response. Capcom’s fifth entry in the Street Fighter series received various complaints regarding the lack of content upon release and how fans of the series breadcrumbed the content following that. After the release of Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition and Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition, fans were far happier with the game.
But now, the time has come to move from Street Fighter 5 to Street Fighter 6. A short announcement trailer for the game showed the titular game hero, Ryu, standing in the dark facing off against Luke, the 45th Street Fighter character and the final character added to Street Fighter 5.
The trailer portrayed the two standing across from one another, Luke tensing and Ryu sporting a Chris Redfield-esque beard. Capcom has stated that more info will be revealed for Street Fighter 6 in the summer, and every Street Fighter fan should be excited about that.
Street Fighter 6‘s release date has yet to be announced, but it will undoubtedly be one of the things revealed during the summer.
