Stellar Blade goes gold two weeks ahead of release.
Kim Hyung Tae, the director of Stellar Blade, has confirmed that the game’s development has been completed in an interview with PlayStation Blog Japan, which means the game has gone gold.
A translation of the director’s comments states that it has been 5 years since Stellar Blade was announced, but the team has finally completed development. Kim states he thinks there are only a few action-adventure games from Korea available for home consoles. But he believes has made it easier to play for everyone to enjoy and has prepared attractive characters and world visuals. As with an interview with a Korean outlet, Kim also mentions that there will be a day one patch to accompany the game’s release.
A demo version of Stellar Blade was released 1 month prior to the game’s full release. The demo takes place at the beginning of the game and has been confirmed that you are able to transfer your save over to the full game.
Kim states that his influence for creating this game comes from many other action games, though he did not focus on anything in particular, and that the identity of Stellar Blade is unique to him. Combat patterns change depending on if you’re playing with melee or long-ranged weapons, as well as being able to choose to play defensively or aggressively. The demo version offer multiple ways to play, so Kim encourages us to play with the different styles of combat.
Additionally, there is no known DLC that has been confirmed. However, Kim ensures that there will be free updates for Stellar Blade such as new costumes. You will also be pleased to know that there will be no micro-transactions in the game.
A Stellar Blade demo is available now on PlayStation 5, and the full game is scheduled to release on April 26, 2024.
