Steelrising’s first gameplay video has been released by NACON and Spiders.
Steelrising, a reimagining of the French Revolution in 1789 by NACON and Spiders, has shown its first gameplay trailer. You take on the role of Eugene Vaucauson, a French engineer employed by Louis XVI to design and build automatons for the Monarchy. The game will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on September 8th, 2022.
For the first time, more than five minutes of gameplay footage and many stages are shown off, focusing on the action-packed battles. The initial Steelrising bosses and a slew of opponents can be seen in this clip.
Vaucanson’s workshop is featured in one of the game’s stages, where the king’s army’s automatons are created. Aegis can use various weapons and artifacts to attempt to kill a variety of enemies. Aegis ‘ clothing may be customized further after a carriage journey to the following level. Additionally, the grappling hook may explore Parisian architecture from a new perspective. Players may use the dash to explore the city of 1789 more unconventionally by activating a system of enhancements that can be used at any time.
1789 marks the beginning of the collapse of the Monarchy with the storming of the Bastille. If King Louis XVI, a watchmaker, had devised an army of automatons capable of defeating this revolt, Steelrising gives us an alternate history. Armed to the teeth, this force shows no mercy as it brutally retaliates against any rebels it encounters. Men, women, and children are being brutally slaughtered in Paris while the city burns down around them.
Previously a robot, Aegis is now a warrior, serving as the bodyguard of Marie Antoinette. Aegis, the Queen’s personal bodyguard, will have to traverse a Paris filled with robots. Each encounter with these artificial foes puts the player’s talents to the ultimate test. It’s a price worth paying if you want to influence the course of history.
