Another delay for Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl, however, this time the release date is confirmed to be final.
GSC Games, the developer studio that is known for creating the STALKER series, has finally set a release date for the anticipated Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl. The studio has been facing heavy problems since they started working on the sequel, the biggest one being the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia. The studio is based in Ukraine, therefore they had more than deadlines to take care of. The majority of the office was moved to Prague for a better work environment, but problems still followed them.
Since the beginning of the development of Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl, one of the people who worked on the GSC Games had died due to war, and their office in Prague got burnt overnight due to an electrical failure. Despite the bad luck following them, the developers are still fine-tuning the game still to this day. In order to get a satisfactory status from the players, GSC Games is determined to polish the game even further.
Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl was initially planned to be released in 2022 but then pushed back to 2023. There was a rumour of GSC Games finally publishing the game in Q1 2024, but today we got an official statement, saying that the game will be finally released in September this year.
It was long overdue but finally, we have a set date for the arrival of the anticipated tactical shooter, and it’s the 5th of September, 2024. The title will be available for PC and Xbox Series X|S only. You can pre-order the game through GSC Games’ own website or Steam. It is best to remember that the game will be also available on Xbox Game Pass once it releases, so regular subscribers can enjoy the game right away.
