Square Enix reimagined Visions of Mana at the Game Awards.
In a surprise announcement at yesterday’s The Game Awards 2023, SQUARE ENIX unveiled Visions of Mana, the first mainstream installment in the popular Mana series in over fifteen years. Returning to the series’ action-RPG roots, Visions of Mana will send players on an exciting new adventure alongside protagonist Val. Val is a soul guard whose job is to safeguard his boyhood friend, whom the Faerie has selected as the Alm of Fire, and travel to the Tree of Mana to restore the mana flow.
Square Enix has released a new Visions of Mana trailer that offers a glimpse inside the world of Mana, which has been reimagined for the brand-new Visions of Mana. In the video, we get a glimpse of the exciting gameplay and colorful world that we can expect to explore as we traverse stunning environments, fight a wide variety of enemies and monsters (including the beloved Rabites), and discover a realm where the forces of nature and elemental spirits converge. New and improved gameplay, including real-time 3D combat, will also be available to fans and beginners.
From its 1991 debut as FINAL FANTASY ADVENTURE, a spin-off of the FINAL FANTASY series, to the present day, Mana games have captivated audiences with their vivid settings, charming characters, and fantastical plots across a wide range of genres and platforms. Anime fans can look forward to fresh character designs from Mana series illustrator Airi Yoshioka and a mesmerizing new soundtrack from musicians Hiroki Kikuta, Tsuyoshi Sekito, and Ryo Yamazaki.
In honor of the announcement of Visions of Mana, well-known series artist HACCAN has designed new teaser artwork. It shows the famous Tree of Mana set against a beautiful backdrop and features several charming characters that players may look forward to meeting in the game.
Visions of Mana will be available on Steam for PC, PlayStation 4/5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2024.
