Insomniac Games makes a splash at Summer Games Festival as they take a look into the future of Spider-Man 2 with release information
The more we learn about Spider-Man 2 the more excited I get. Summer Games Festival has always been one of the most exciting games of the year with many games taking it as their opportunity to drop important information about their games. This year it was Sony who decided to have a huge drop with the release date for Spider-Man 2. After Sony showed off the game play trailer just a few weeks ago at the PlayStation Showcase event it was at the front of everyone’s minds when Summer Games Fest started. Spider-Man 2 was already revealed to be coming out this fall but we have now had it confirmed but it will come out October 20th.
Spider-Man 2 also had some more exciting information revealed as images of Peter Parker, Miles Morales, Kraven and Venom were all shown for the game. The box art was also shown today, featuring both Peter and Miles and showing Peter to have the iconic Venom webbing rather than his normal webs. This box art follows the style of the previous two games with the iconic red background and the classic Spider-Man pose.
The pre-order date for Spider-Man 2 was also set with the game becoming available for pre-orders from June 16th at 10am at the local time for the purchaser. As well as the standard edition there will be a deluxe edition that has 10 unique suits, 5 each for Peter and Miles. It also includes frames and stickers for Photo Mode as well as two additional skill points. A collectors edition will also be available with the preorder including a Steelbook case and a high-quality 19-inch statue of Spider-Man fighting Venom.
The deluxe edition will be priced at $79.99 and the collectors $230. All pre-orders will also gain the Arachknight Suit for Peter in 3 different colours and an early unlock for Miles’ Shadow Spider Suit, again in 3 colours. Spider-Man 2 pre-orders will also include an early unlock for the Web Grabber and 3 skill points from the start of the game.
