Souls-like fans rejoice as Sands of Aura leaves Early Access and will be releasing soon.
Souls-likes are an interesting type of game, to say the least, famed for their difficulty and heavily inspired by the iconic From Software game series. The genre has seen an explosion in the indie scene and it looks like a new title is joining the ranks. Sands of Aura has just left Early Access and is set to release on 27 October 2023. The game promises to be a challenging yet immersive experience with its beautiful and dusty setting.
The game is developed by Chansu Entertainment and has been in development for roughly three years, players got a chance to experience the first three acts of the game’s story in the Early Access version of Sands of Aura. It seems that things have been going smoothly for the game, as it has finally left Early Access and will be fully released later in October. If you’re interested, check out the game’s trailer, which gives us a glimpse as to what we can expect from the desert Souls-like.
Sands of Aura invites players to experience and immerse themselves in the game’s beautiful yet grim isometric open world. The game is set in Talamhel, a world that is plagued by the Night Plague, a deadly disease that has caused the world to be nothing more than a never-ending sea of dust and sand. Will you walk across the dunes? Brace the howling winds? Face all that hides within them?
The trailer gives us a glimpse as to what different factions we can join, such as the Remnant Knights, a group of dedicated knights that fight off the dark forces that plague the desolate lands. As you would expect, the game will feature combat similar to what we see in games such as Dark Souls and Elden Ring, which means preparing to become a doormat if you don’t know how to parry. Players will also have full customization over their equipment and what they can wear and can adjust their loadout to work with their play style.
Sands of Aura is by no means a AAA release, but considering the potential that the game has, we’re excited to see what this new Souls-like will bring to the table. If you’re interested in playing the game, the first three chapters are available on the Early Access version, which is currently available on Steam.
