Multiple rumors from multiple insider industries suggest Starfield may come to PS5.
Industry rumors from verified insiders have claimed that Starfield is due to launch on the PlayStation 5 shortly after the next expansion titled “Shattered Space” is released to Xbox and PC. Sources suggest the Xbox may be planning to move all of its titles to other platforms, with Starfield being one of the first titles to make the platform journey to other platforms.
Struggling hardware sales and a hard focus on Game Pass have been a major role played in a Microsoft redirection in the gaming division, letting players see bigger changes coming sooner than anticipated. Gaming insiders have begun revealing Xbox’s plans to extend to multi-platform releases, noting Starfield and Bethesda’s other titles as key components of this new directive.
The rumor mill has been buzzing with indications that Xbox is looking to make all its titles accessible to multiple platforms, also suggesting that even big console exclusives such as Starfield are not enough to keep Xbox competitive. Struggling to keep pace with hardware markets such as Nintendo and PlayStation, has supposedly pushed Microsoft to look at alternative revenues and new outlets, namely gaining the potential profits of releasing Xbox titles to consumers on other consoles and platforms.
Among the potential Xbox titles suggested to go to multiplatform are Bethesda’s Starfield and the up-and-coming Indiana Jones and The Great Circle. Along with those titles rumored to go to PS5, the list also includes titles such as Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves, Microsoft Flight Simulator, and possibly even Halo Infinite.
In the end, this is all still just rumors, and with no official confirmation from Microsoft or Xbox regarding these rumors players, are left waiting with bated breath for the yay or nay of the rumors. Although, left waiting, it is speculated that word of these rumors and the confirmation might be coming within the next month.
