Roblox announced record-breaking earnings for its developers as the online game passed a new player milestone at a recent virtual convention.
Roblox has seen a massive surge in popularity that has not slowed down since its debut fourteen years ago. The creation game’s staff announced it passed another astounding milestone after surpassing Minecraft’s monthly active user base last August.
Developer Roblox Corporation talked about Roblox’s still growing popularity at last weekend’s sixth annual Roblox Developers Conference. Roblox CEO and founder David Baszucki also announced that Roblox creators could earn over $250 million this year after revealing that the creative platform now has 150 million active users per month. Statistics from the conference also revealed some of the game’s most popular creations, which have been played 10 billion times by users, like the game “Adopt Me!”.
The experience also saw over 1.6 million concurrent users earlier this year. Other games offered similar player figures. Roblox passed 100 million monthly active users, and these figures show explosive growth from 2019. They also reflect the result of a recent study, which claimed that over half of children in the United States use the digital sandbox.
Roblox Corporation has clear plans to expand its American popularity worldwide. The developers recently announced that the sandbox game will support automatic machine translations for other languages that the platform supports. Roblox is available now on Xbox One, PC, and Android.
