The developers behind Dying Light 2, Techland share the roadmap of the future content planned for the game, 10 months after release.
Fans of Techland’s Dying Light 2 will be glad to know that the developer has recently updated the game’s content road map. The new additions that have been added to the roadmap are quite ambitious and seem to indicate that Techland intends on supporting the game well into the future. We were able to get a glimpse at some of the future content shortly after Dying Light 2’s Update 1.12.2 was introduced. This update has made numerous improvements to the game and even added changes to the in-game score, which was made due to player feedback.
The game will be celebrating its 20-month anniversary on 4 October 2023. Dying Light 2 is the sequel to the first Dying Light game which was released back in 2015. Both games are set in a post-apocalyptic world and can be played completely solo, or with up to three friends. Dying Light’s cooperative mode was probably the game’s biggest selling point and is believed to be the biggest factor behind the game’s success. On its first weekend, Dying Light 2 had over 3.3 million players, but things seemed to have fizzled out as the game is now struggling to surpass its predecessor. Techland’s upcoming content roadmap seems to want to rectify that.
Despite the low player count, Techland released a 3-minute-long trailer that shows the planned content that will be coming to the game sometime in the future. These include new missions, additional board requests, and a brand-new Nightmare difficulty mode. There also seems to be plans to allow players to replay any of the game’s 12 GRE Anomalies, as well as also introducing a new Tower Raid mode.
Though all these additions would be greatly appreciated, there was unfortunately no release date included in the trailer. However, Techland has promised that many of the planned content is already on the horizon and will be implemented soon, players will just need to be patient.
