The Resident Evil games 2, 3, and 7 will each get upgrades to next-generation consoles and a PC upgrade.
Resident Evil is one of Capcom’s most popular, long-running series in the company’s history and even in the history of gaming as a whole. One of the few franchises that was able to re-invent itself following the release of Resident Evil 7, the series has never been stronger, with the titular remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 also garnering much critical acclaim.
The official Resident Evil Twitter announced this:
For fans of the series, this is significant news as players will be able to experience three incredible games, all upgraded for the next generation. As stated in the tweet, players who already own these games on PS4 or Xbox One will be able to upgrade these games at no additional cost whatsoever.
Don’t fret, PC players; the official Twitter had some information for you as well:
Excellent news: The upgrades will also be made available for PC players, who, fortunately, will not be left behind whenever these upgrades drop. There is currently no release date regarding the upgrades, only that they should arrive sometime this year.
This year seems to be instead stocked full of new releases, game upgrades and more with many seeming to have delayed due to the COVID pandemic, what we are seeing now is a deluge of content being dropped from some of the heaviest hitters in the industry.
