The release date for Street Fighter 6’s first DLC, Rashid, gets revealed by Capcom as well as new gameplay footage of the Middle Eastern representative.
Street Fighter 6 has definitely been a huge knockout success and it would seem we finally have a first look at the game’s first upcoming DLC fighter, Rashid, as Capcom reveals the release date for the character along with new gameplay footage that shows off the Middle Eastern Fighter’s unique style and technique.
Rashid will be joining the game’s roster, which already bolstered over 16 worldwide fighters when the game first released on 2 June 2023. The roster included many fan favorites such as Ryu, Ken, and Chun-Li, but we also got to see some of the many new faces such as Jamie, Marisa, and Kimberly which are all welcome additions to the series’ character roster. Though Street Fighter 6’s roster featured an already impressive mix of both new and old characters, many felt that the roster was rather small and featured many characters that already had appearances in the game’s predecessor, Street Fighter 5. However, things seem to be changing as Capcom has already announced the first DLC character for the game.
The Middle Eastern fighter first made his debut appearance in Street Fighter 5 and was a part of that game’s launch roster. Rashid hails from Saudi Arabia, with his charming good looks, Rashid has taken to social media to vlog his various encounters on his journey to find the true meaning of strength after the conclusion of Street Fighter 5’s cinematic storyline. Rashid’s fighting style is a mix of hard kicks and acrobatics, and stylish parkour moves that can conjure tornadoes to attack his foes and sweep them off their feet. We can see all this in his brand-new gameplay trailer that was recently released by Capcom.
The stylish new SF6 trailer shows Rashid performing many of his iconic parkour techniques, this is presumably the first cutscenes that players will see of Rashid when we first encounter him in-game. The trailer then further goes on to show off the rest of his moveset, that show off his fighting technique that is incredibly aggressive and focuses heavily on his mobility. Rashid can easily take control of the fight, with his parkour moves and his ability to generate tornadoes that can be used to keep his opponents in place.
Though an important thing to note, especially if you haven’t played Street Fighter 5 is, despite his fighting style being highly aggressive, Rashid is actually one of the friendliest characters in the Street Fighter universe. The trailer shows this off by showing his taunt, his relaxed attitude and of course, it also shows off that Rashid likes to record his fights. If you can’t wait to get your hands on Rashid, players will be glad to know that they will be able to earn character themed rewards.
