Red Dead Redemption 2 has a higher number of players on Steam than ever before.
Rockstar has since ceased providing content updates for Red Dead Redemption 2 and has essentially abandoned the game, with the exception of a few minor events. Despite this, the game has seen a resurgence on Steam specifically, with the last 30 days being massive for the title.
The data, as correlated by SteamDB, showed that on Sunday, 8th January, 69,134, with a consistent threshold of 50,000 or so players concurrently playing the game. This number beats the previous concurrent players of this title on Steam, which was at 66,492 almost a month ago.
This comes a full year after the #SaveRedDeadOnline movement, during which the community could not convince Rockstar (who are currently developing the future of GTA) to consistently add content and updates to the game. Single-player DLC is unlikely to come for the three-year-old title.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is available on Steam, and though Rockstar may not be providing new content for the game, those who have not experienced one of the best games ever made should take the opportunity to do so.
