The sequel Quintus and the Formidable Curse brings new, bigger, and improved mechanics, as well as gameplay and graphics
The original puzzle, horror-adventure Quintus and the Absent Truth was developed and published by Wreck Tangle Games back on 13 October 2020. The Wreck Tangle Games developers are proud to announce the continuation of their man-and-mouse Horror adventuring duo.
The sequel Quintus and the Formidable Curse continues the unlikely duo’s journey and their adventures through the game’s various puzzles. Along with the continued story, Wreck Tangle Games has promised all elements of the second iteration will bring bigger and better changes to the mechanics of the first game.
Along with these changes, the unique visual art style from the original game makes a return with stunningly improved graphics with more detail and enhanced colors, the game also has a new take on the QATFC mechanic which allows the player to swap between being a mouse or man. Unlike in the previous game, there were only certain events where you could switch between Alen and Quintus. This mechanic has now been fully scripted, allowing players to change to Quintus or Alen when they deem fit.
With any good sequel, this game has a lot of new aspects compared to the first game. For example, Quintus has 4 additional mice friends to add to the odd duo’s adventure, with each additional mouse connected to 1 of the 4 natural elements such as fire, wind, and electricity. These elements add more clues to the puzzles you will experience, giving you more details and allowing you to think a little extra out of the box.
The new sequel Quintus and the Formidable Curse also introduces a combat system, darker plots, and bigger dangers in this adventure similar to horror puzzle games like Creepy Tale 3: Ingrid Penance. Alan will have to fight his way through some areas of the game with anything he can get his hands on, as enemies can be around any corner it’s best that Alan is prepared for anything.
Combat will mainly consist of swinging a bat or pipe, but later on in some areas Alen can ask his new mouse friends for help, for example, the wind mouse during battle is able to lift enemies into the air or he can ask the fire mouse to burn them away only making battles more entertaining and easier to manage.
With the detailed information released on Quintus and the Formidable Curse thus far on the steam page, along with its short reveal trailer, the game looks like a fun and exciting adventure. As for when our mouse and man adventuring duo’s journey will start, it remains to be seen; with no release date being out there yet, there is no telling when this exciting game could be dropped.
