More PlayStation Store rewards are included in the October 2024 update for PS Stars.
A lot has been happening with PlayStation lately, especially after the PS5 Pro reveal and Sony’s controversial decision about mandatory PSN accounts for Steam players. Sony has been trying to amend the users with different offers and PlayStations sales, and among them comes the rewards points for PS Stars.
Yes, under the radar, Sony released an upgrade for PS Stars in October 2024 that made minor tweaks to the PS Store rewards part of the program. Although we still advise using Wallet cash to redeem points, this update can be helpful for gamers in locations where taxes are added to PS Store prices.
PS Stars’ October 2024 update might be different for each market and member. The Astro Bot digital deluxe edition upgrade costs 2,500 points (the full game is 15,000 points), Stellar Blade costs 2,500 points (the full game is 17,500 points), Doom 1+2 costs 2,500 points, and Hunt: Showdown 1896 costs 7,500 points, among other rewards from Sony.
Even while digital cash isn’t going anywhere, it’s great to see greater variety in game incentives beyond microtransactions. Remember that PS Stars campaigns and PS Store rewards are different for each member and each area, as stated in the program’s terms of service. Because of this, not all of our readers may see the highlighted prizes. Updates to the section were made this month, though, so you should notice more offerings than previously.
Once again, these benefits will only be available to customers whose local PS Store prices are often higher than average because of taxes. For everything else, just use your PS Store Wallet.
For those who didn’t know, PlayStation released a new PS5 System Software Update last week. The PSN App was down for almost a day for mysterious reasons, but Sony eventually fixed it.
