PlayStation Plus is experiencing a major revamp and many new games will join the service as a result.
PlayStation announced back in March that PlayStation Plus, the consoles online service would be getting a massive overhaul. This overhaul would see the service match that which is already available via Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft’s own lucrative adventure into creating the ‘Netflix for Video Games’.
PlayStation’s new rework of their own service to better match Game Pass proves how successful the idea is. In regards to the basis of PlayStation’s new service, there will be three tiers to choose from: Essential, Extra and Premium. Each have their own little caveats and bonuses as you ‘go up’ in the tiers. Premium offers the most from the service and as such is the most expensive and so on.
PlayStation released a video containing some more information regarding the tiers:
The video shows various standout titles that will be available on the service. PlayStation first party titles like: God of War, Bloodborne, Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, Marvel’s Spider Man: Miles Morales, Death Stranding and Demon’s Souls were all seen to be available on the PlayStation Plus Extra Tier.
In addition to this, games like: Red Dead Redemption 2, Guardian’s of the Galaxy, NBA 2K22 and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla are all said to be available. More games are seeming to be added with each passing day, though Sony are yet to release an official game catalogue.
The final tier PlayStation Plus Premium also features the ‘Classics Catalog’ where players can take a major trip into a world of nostalgia. Games like: Tekken 2, Ape Escape and Syphon Filter will all be available in this tier. Furthermore, contained within the classics catalog are PS3 games that can be played via streaming such as: Motorstorm RC, Infamous 1 & 2, Ico, Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare and Lost Planet 2.
Keep an eye on the PlayStation Plus website where more information will be revealed about the games available on each service tier.
