Just like the last generation, the new and upgraded PlayStation 5 Pro will bring improvements thanks to its improved structure.
It has been a few years since Sony offered gamers their latest generation of video game consoles. Since then, the company has been bringing out extra tech to keep players occupied with PlayStation 5. Gadgets like PlayStation VR and PlayStation Portal are a nice addition to already existing consoles, but what if players wanted more power? Recently, Sony released the smaller version of PlayStation 5 with the fit title “PlayStation 5 Slim”, and now they have turned their attention to a beefier PlayStation 5.
The last generation of Sony consoles also had the same treatment, where PlayStation 4 was also turned into a slim console, and then a powerful-than-the-base-model version was released to the public. While there aren’t any confirmations from Sony themselves about the release of PlayStation 5 Pro, some technical aspects of the upcoming consoles were leaked early today by an insider. According to the new specs, the PlayStation 5 Pro does not seem that revolutionary, considering it uses the same architecture but with an expanded memory and higher frequency of core speed.
To be more technical, PlayStation 5 Pro’s clock speed on the CPU has been upped around 10 percent, making it run at 3.85GHz, and its GPU is reaching 33.5 teraflops. Although people consider the storage aspect of PlayStation 5 to be lacking part, the new PlayStation 5 Pro will enhance the loading times by having faster data transfer speed. While it is 448GB/s in a regular PlayStation 5 model, it is 576GB/s in the Pro version, which is a whopping %28 faster.
According to the leak, the PlayStation 5 Pro will have 1TB of storage as a stock configuration, and players will be able to add an external disc drive to their PlayStation 5 Pro, which makes the additional disc drive rather relevant than forgotten. While the Pro version of PlayStation 5 has no release date and a proper announcement, its rivals are about to make a move with their next generation of consoles by the looks of it.
While Microsoft is getting ready to announce the next big improvement to their Xbox Series X|S line-up through the end of this year, Nintendo is slightly confirming that a second model of the Switch is in the works, and expected to arrive this year. Sony might still care about their fans with more powerful hardware, but they seem to lose some of them as they keep releasing their games on the PC platform. Maybe PlayStation 5 Pro might lead to some change, who knows?
