Destiny 2 players’ gameplay is disturbed by an annoying Festival of The Lost feature.
Destiny 2 players express their annoyance and frustration with Immaru’s dialogue every time a Headless One is killed in the Haunted Sectors. While this is a part of the Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost event, which grants players the chance to acquire some new loot and rewards.
With 4 major limited-time events each year, with events such as Solstice of Heroes, Guardian Games, Festival of the Lost, and the Dawning, the latest event – The Festival of the Lost, arriving just in time for the spooky season, where players will have access to limited time activities called Haunted Sectors. This year, Destiny 2’s Festival of the Lost introduces Legendary Haunted Sectors, along with a to-focus armor without having to burn through rare and precious materials while still maintaining the unchanged mechanics of the haunted sectors.
Although this all sounds good, players aren’t happy with the new addition to this year. The player focuses their annoyance on the dialogue lines Immaru, Savathun’s Ghost, who plays an important part in the storyline of Destiny 2 Season Of The Witch. This season, players witness Savathun being brought back from death to help the Guardians with Xivu Arath, along with the witch queen also winning her freedom by keeping Immaru within the Vanguard’s custody.
With Immaru for now being a permanent resident of the tower, their voices have started appearing in the haunted sectors. Players are not annoyed at the character but rather the dialogue that plays as frequently as every headless one being taken down in the haunted sectors, with phrases such as “heads up Guardian!” and “Don’t disappoint me neon nerd” are frequently played, every time a Headless One is taken down in the haunted sectors.
With this sequence of dialogue frequently playing, it has prompted some players to turn off the dialogue completely in the game. With this year’s Festival of the Lost, new eerie Engrams are introduced which will allow players to focus on the festival’s weapons. Alongside everything else, this also introduces its first all-black shader in the form of a memento, though the downside is that Bungie’s decision to add the all-black shader was set as a single-use memento and that did not go down well with fans of the game.
Aside from this, Bungie also gave a detailed plan of changes to come next for Destiny 2, season 23, which will involve a lot of Exotic armor tuning, along with starting to phase out legendary shards in the game, which will be completely removed with the launch of the Final shape DLC. Only time will tell where the latest updates will take the game, leaving having fans waiting in excitement and with high expectations.
